Don't 'extend' the time between extended family sessions.
This was a really fun and sweet session!
I don't do many extended family sessions.. actually, other than at weddings, I can't remember the last time I have done one! It's not that I don't like; I just never get inquiries for them. And I am thinking that more people need to be doing them because they are so much fun!
When Emily reached out asking about doing them I got so excited! I went to school with Emily and I know her younger sister, Holly, so I was looking forward to working with familiar faces and getting to meet a bunch of new ones! They chose Benjamin Bridge as their location and wow! I LOVE the Gaspereau Valley (it's my dream location to live!) and this was my first time at this winery and it is definitely not going to be my last!
We went in November so it was not as lively which was great but this property is also spread out so even if there were people there it would be easy to find a spot that was a) beautiful and b) free of people!
It was so nice to be able to capture these memories for them all while they were all in one place together!
As families grow they are also tend to grow "apart" meaning that they spread out and being all together happens less and less especially as each individual family grows! Extended family sessions are a great way to not only get everyone together and get those big group photos but they are perfect for squeezing in almost like "mini sessions" into your session by breaking it down into each family, parents with kids and grandkids (or fur grandkids!) and it is a great way to save if you all go in on the session together! Best bang for your buck!
So let this be your sign to get your family together and have some photos done just having fun, sharing laughs and making memories :)
