The end of the east coast lifestyle..
for now.
Since we got our posting to Nova Scotia back in 2021, we knew that it wasn't going to be a forever thing.
Did we hope it might be? Well duh!
But being a military family, we know that things don't last.
And this posting was no exception.
With all that being said, this October The Buckle's will be packing up and moving back to Belleville, Ontario (well, the general Bay of Quinte area)!
It is a bittersweet feeling.
Leaving family, the beautiful scenery and access to the ocean, and our amazing home that we love so so much (actually crying writing this.. I love this home so much!) is not going to be easy! Who will feed my deer and the birds? Obviously those two things are my biggest concern, haha!
But to say that this posting has been all rainbows and sunshine would be a lie. It has been difficult and has come with its challenges. I love Nova Scotia and I will always be proud to say that I am from this incredible province. But it isn't our time to settle down here.. just yet.
The Bay of Quinte holds a big chunk of my heart! There is something about that area that calls to me. I felt like I overcame so many obstacles when we lived in Belleville before - I broke out of my shell, started my photography business, built a community that I still keep in touch with, and some of the greatest friends! I also loved that I could walk into a coffee shop or the mall or wherever and there was a good chance that I would bump into someone I knew. As someone who grew up in a (true) small town (it was less than 5000 people when I was growing up), that is something I have always loved! The familiar faces and how people light up during their quick catch-up!
This time, I am going back to a familiar area and familiar people, but as a slightly different person.. and I am really excited for this next chapter :)
With all that being said, we are still unsure of our exact moving date but it will be in October 2025! I would love to start booking fall sessions (maybe minis?) and I would love to book a few weddings in the Prince Edward County + Bay of Quinte area for 2026!
Stay tuned if you want to be updated on when we do get our posting date!
