Cozy Christmas mini sessions at the Aframe on Fletcher!
I started off my 2023 Christmas season and finished my 2023 photography season on the same day!
I was hesitant to book the Aframe on Fletcher this year because last year I lost money. Only two bookings last year but two wonderful families that have been repeat clients! This year, I had the odds against me because A) I booked too late in the season - you need to book this place in the Summer for a prime Christmas weekend date, and B) I booked a Wednesday...
I went with a date that I knew one of my clients from last year could make and I kept my expectations at that.
Well, little did I know that I would almost book up!!
I met new families, shared many laughs with adults and some of the sweetest kids ever, and I got to capture some holiday memories for them all at this beautiful and magical location!
Side note: Kate always decorates the Aframe SO WELL! I am in awe by the eye that she has for decor! It truly is something to experience for yourself!
Like most sessions, I like to look book and see what I loved and what I could work on or change the next time.
The main thing that this day taught me and that I will be changing from now on with back-to-back mini sessions is not doing back-to-back sessions, haha!
I am someone who LOVES getting to know clients, having chats with them, and making a connection. I felt rushed and honestly bad when I had to end a session and be like "okay, that's all the time we have" and watch the families quickly pack up their little ones and go. By the time they have to leave is the time that some children just start to warm up to the space and to me! So, from now on, I will have a minimum of 20 minutes in-between sessions to allow for some overtime if needed and a more relaxed exit!
I will also book in the summer and try to get a better date next year, haha!
Thank you SO MUCH to each family that made it out and supported me this year! You all were so wonderful, upbeat, and ready for the camera! Every single one of you was so organized and made my job a piece of cake :)
