From Ontario Neighbours to Maritime Neighbours.

I met Megan and Brett back in 2021 when I shot their engagement photos and then their wedding when we all lived in Belleville, Ontario!

Funny enough, we were practically neighbours - just a short 2 minute walk from each other's house and we had no clue until they contacted me to photograph their wedding! How silly, eh!

We also found out that we were all "Maritime Transplants" - them from New Brunswick and me from Nova Scotia!

So, from my side of things, we had a lot in common and hit it off!

Fast forward to now: we all now live back in our home provinces with them in New Brunswick and me in Nova Scotia!

Well, to my very big surprise and delight, I received a message from Megan and Brett saying that they were expecting later this year and were wanting to do maternity photos.. with me!.. in Nova Scotia!!

Megan had a 'whimsical' vision for these photos and from the inspiration photos she sent there was one thing that majority of them had in common:

Willow Trees.

And if you know the valley at all, you know that there are willow trees a plenty compared to the Halifax area (it's a soil thing).

They made the 4+hour drive to Grand Pré in the Annapolis Valley and met me at Tangled Garden. The garden thankfully had loads of colour and life still left (thanks to the warm Fall season we are currently having) which gave us so much work with! Then, after they closed and to catch the sunset, we drove 2 minutes down the road to the Grand Pré Historical Site where the grounds there are full of willows (and ducks!)!

I am still in shock that people would drive from a different province (one of them being 7 months pregnant!) to have their photos done by.. me. It is the HIGHEST compliment and I don't have the expansive vocabulary to express how much it means to me!

Thank you SO much, Megan and Brett!
