Sometimes you just need to have a bit of fun..
And that is what this model call was all about!
I have only done a session like this one other time with friends who were visiting Nova Scotia last year but I remembered A) how much fun it was and B) how relaxing and easy it felt because there was no pressure. It's just for fun and to create!
I worked with Megan and Christian last year and we actually shot at Blomidon Provincial Park, the spot across the water from where we shot this year, at Evangeline Beach. I grew up going to this beach often because my family has a cabin just down the way from the canteen (you can get to it from the beach) so shooting here means a lot to me when I get to do it! We shot around 430pm this day because I wasn't sure how quickly the tide would come in (something I need to work on, haha!) but we had plenty of time, so if I could go back and start an hour later... I would! Though, this was great practice for shooting with a high sun! So, there's that!
And on my way to the beach, just before crossing the dyke in Grand Pre I saw these trees that has blossoms on them (not sure what kind but they were beautiful!) and I mentioned that on our way out we should stop there and Megan had the same idea! So that's what we did!
I plan to do way more of these shoots, maybe monthly, because I just felt so in my element and happy! And I truly do love capturing moments for people especially in a day and age where everyone has a phone but they are normally on one side or the other and don't truly get to live in the moment! And that's what I want for all of my clients - a slot in the day where they can just live, laugh, love (sorry had to) and be present all while I capture that time for them.
So if you are wanting a shoot but maybe money is tight (don't I know it!), make sure to follow me on Instagram and keep an eye out for when I am looking for couples or families who want to frolic around and be merry while I take their pictures!
