Beach days in November need to become a thing!
I was honestly a little nervous shooting at Conrad's Beach in November because I was worried my clients would be too cold and it wouldn't be enjoyable for them..
but boy was I wrong!
Allison + Duncan knew exactly what they wanted for their engagement session - well, Allison had the vision and Duncan was happy to help her make that vision come to life (A+ for Duncan for being a supportive fiancé!).
Allison had sent me a Pinterest board showing what she envisioned for their engagement photos and, though some photographers may not like this, I actually like it! As long as my clients are aware that the photos are simply inspiration and their photos will look different because A. They are not the couples in the photos so they will look different, B. My editing style may not be the same as it is in other photographers photos, and C. Some poses may not work out! These are always things to keep in mind when looking at inspiration on Pinterest for sessions.
But Allison and Duncan put their faith in me and went ALL IN for their session! They tried every pose that I wanted to, they ran probably a 1 km during their session just so I could get certain shots, they laid down in the long grass and sand, and they even went barefoot in the ocean.. in November!
They are literal CHAMPS!
I don't like to choose favourites because I love all of my sessions and I have so much fun with all of my clients, but this engagement session truly set the bar high and reinvigorated me! I left this session buzzing with excitement to get home and start editing their sneak peeks and to get a little creative with the editing compared to my usual edits! It was just what my tired photographer self needed during the busiest time of year!
I appreciate all of my clients so this is in no way me saying that I didn't like other sessions. Some sessions just help reignite passion into photographers who are just going through the motions and trying to get edits done. I appreciate every single one of my clients and I have been so fortunate to have been able to attract the type of people that click with me just through photos and emails!
I am just ready for a bit of shift in my photography and editing and this session made me realize that I can do it!
I am ready for the adventure! And I am so ready for Allison + Duncan's wedding in November 2024!!
