Happy Summer Everyone!

Kicking off the summer posts with this super sweet and fun sunset engagement session at Blomidon Provincial Park!

Fun fact about me:

My family has a cabin along Evangeline Beach (near Grand Pré) in the Annapolis Valley. This beach, along with Blomidon Provincial Park, are settled along the Minas Basin. Our cabin looks across to Blomidon and when I was much younger, I used to think that Blomidon (without realizing it was Blomidon) was PEI...

I am happy to report that I know the truth now, haha!

Second fact:

I went to high school just down the road from Blomidon Provincial Park in Canning!

The Annapolis Valley is a big place with tons of hidden gems and some well-known ones as well! Blomidon Provincial Park is one of those well-known gems (unless you are a 6 year old girl who believes it is PEI.. but I digress). It was the perfect location for Hannah and Ried's engagement session because a) they are both from the Annapolis Valley (they went to my high school's rival school), and b) they have been here many times with other memories attached to it, and c) in 2025 they will be getting married across the water near Grand Pré!

I feel like I have said this so many times but I always try to get my clients to choose a location that has some meaning to them for their engagement sessions because I want them to have even just the smallest sense of comfort when they arrive to their session. For most people, their engagement session is the first time they have had professional photos done which can feel very intimidating. So, to take some of that stress away, picking a location that you have visited or frequent or has meaning to you is always a good idea!

Blomidon really is a location that has. it. all!

You have the beautiful willow trees that welcome you as you park in the parking lot, the first set of stairs that are currently being devoured by beautiful greenery, a gravel walkway with some more grassy patches and trees, then you take the stairs down to the beach and get that epic view of the red cliffs, and now you have some pretty nice bathrooms with cute wood siding (look through the photos and you will see what I mean haha!)! It is a place with textures a plenty!
