Love in the city.
My first ever downtown Halifax engagement session since moving back to Nova Scotia! Funny enough, these two beautiful people drove all the way from Fredericton, New Brunswick to shoot their engagement session - how awesome is that?!
Rebecca and Estêvão made the 4.5 hour drive to Halifax on a stunning (but very chilly!) November afternoon just to frolic around the waterfront and some of the downtown scene in Halifax. This was such a fun shoot and it really got my creative juices flowing - the city and the architecture of the lower section of downtown is so inspiring and the perfect backdrop for any session where clients are ready to go on an adventure! I got play around with different poses (something I always try to do at every session - have a few "new to me" poses to try out), getting different backgrounds was as simple as shifting ever so slightly to the right or left, and it was fun to be somewhat of a tourist with Rebecca and Estêvão who live out of province!
I also took one of my favourite shots of 2023 and definitely one of my top 5 favourite shots I have ever taken during this shoot - look for the lighthouse on George's Island - you'll see why it's a fave!!
One more thing that I loved about this shoot - seeing how outwardly friendly strangers are! Throughout the session, we had many people honk and send their congratulations to Rebecca and Estêvão as well and yell (kindly!) some wonderful compliments like "you look awesome!" to them while they were rocking it in front of the camera! It was so lovely and really just added to the whole experience :)

I cannot wait to shoot Rebecca and Estêvão's wedding next August in my favourite little city that doesn't feel like a city, FREDERICTON!!!
