On a gorgeous Spring day in early April 2022, we hit up Laurie Provincial Park near Fall River for Fiona and Deven’s engagement session!
Early Spring might be the best time for photos - engagement, family, proposal.. etc! Why? Because the parks and beaches are still quiet and the weather is warming up but not too hot making it still a great time for cute layers (aka. an easy way to have multiple outfits on at one time!).
This day was perfect! The air was a a little chilly but the sun had a little heat in her making it not uncomfortably cold. The park was very quiet and though the leaves were not out yet, it stay made for such a gorgeous backdrop! It is the perfect location for those who are looking for a location not too far from the city, wanting woods and water for their session (best of both worlds), is dog friendly, far enough from the main road (which is a bonus if you have children who have a lot of energy), is wheel-chair accessible in most areas, and you don’t mind walking (or frolicking!) around to the different locations to capture the sun!
Best time to go here: Spring, mid-late Fall and Winter. Summer will be busier and as it is a camping area, there will be campers, so I would not recommend unless you were camping there in the summer!
