Let's go to the beach!
Cue Nicki Minaj because it is beach season baby!
Well, it has been "beach season" for me since early April - not the typical beach season but just as beautiful (but slightly chilly).
But now the warmer weather is finally kicking in (and she is HERE - going to feel like 27 degrees celsius when I am writing this post!)!
I have so many beach sessions lined up this year and to be honest, I kind of only want beach sessions. When the weather is this beautiful it means that photographers are typically busier and with comes lots of editing which means that beach days are minimal for us. So, I am hoping to spend a lot of days "on" at the beach with sweet families, the lovebirds and whoever else wants to get in front of the camera while making some summer mems at the beach!
A few beaches in/ near Halifax that I LOVE:
- Conrad's Beach - PRO: huge coastline which means lots of space and never feels that crowded. CON: parking - plan to walk a ways on nice days.
- Lawrencetown Beach (the side beach) - PRO: this section is sandy and typically less busy and also comes with the beautiful long beach grass! CON: the parking lot is small and has GIANT potholes so be prepared!
- Rainbow Haven - PRO: the evenings seem to be the best time for this beach (less people) which also happens to be the best time for photos ;). Also, there are bathrooms/ change rooms! Always a plus! CONS: can be quite busy.
- Crystal Crescent - PROS: TONS of parking, white sand, and looks like a beach that you would see on a vacation down south! CONS: can get busy, and there is a nudist beach off to the side (not necessarily a con but something to be mindful of - my husband and I stumbled upon a couple in the woods.. I will leave it there haha!).
There are endless beaches and shoreline in Nova Scotia and these are just a few near Halifax!
If you are interested in a beach session this summer please reach out!
And be on the lookout for beach mini dates coming in July and/or August!
