It's like rain... on your wedding day.
Which many say is good luck!
However you look at it, you should never let rain ruin your big day! Be like Courtney and Cameron and embrace it while also having a back-up plan for their ceremony.
This wedding day was a typical August wedding - hot and sticky - with an extra zest in the form of a lingering thunderstorm, haha!
But thankfully, the rain hit our area so perfectly! With a little drizzle to start us off which wasn't enough to ruin hair or makeup and didn't make the ground too moist but then led into a full-blown DOWN POUR just as the ceremony was about to begin. Thankfully, Courtney and Cameron's friends and family were on top of things and had everything under the tent that was going to be used for their reception just in time! Like, they could not have timed this last minute decision any better!
And guess what?
The sun came out RIGHT AFTER the ceremony! And it was a GORGEOUS evening for mingling and sharing laughs with their loved ones and closest friends friends! This day was just.. perfect.
The thing I want you take away from this is please do not panic if the weather is not what you had hoped for. If you are having an outdoor wedding, always plan a backup plan and even a backup for your backup plan! Or, if you like to live life on the wild side, just embrace what is given to you! The weather should never impact the magic of your wedding / elopement day.
Just have fun and live in the moment because your wedding day goes by in a blink!
A few of my favourite moments/ things from Courtney and Cameron's wedding day:
+ Everyone's positive and relaxed spirits!
+ How helpful every single person was and how quickly they stepped up to help even in the pouring rain!
+ Watching Oaklyn sleep through the entire ceremony - seriously the sweetest thing to witness and I think about how one day when he is older he will see these memories and have no recollection of them but he will have them!
+ The sun coming out right after the ceremony was over - and what a GORGEOUS day it was!
+ THE COLOURS! I love the summery colours that Courtney and Cameron chose! Each bridesmaid having their own colour that complimented their complexions so perfectly :)
+ The location! Owl and Otter is a stunning location for an intimate wedding and/or elopement! Highly recommend!
